Special interest areas

Restorative and rehabilitative work with sex offenders and the impacted families. Relationship Issues; power imbalance, coercive control, isolation, rejection and obsession. Historical abuse, flashbacks, guilt and shame; including inner conflict and confusion. As a therapist I find working with neurodivergent clients very rewarding and intellectually stimulating. Working with neurodivergent clients fosters inclusion, enhances understanding, and supports empowerment. Discussions often provide unexpected opportunities that invites new insight and understanding, inviting clients to explore, evaluate, and share their life experience from a neurodivergent perspective in an often neurotypically designed world. The sessions invite dialogue, opportunity for growth and development, or simply a safe space to offload and decompress, and recharge. Sessions are person specific, so are tailored to each client's unique situation and perspective; content one session may encourage creative problem-solving, another may require nothing more than a listening ear in a confidential space; we simply work collaboratively with whatever presents itself in an open, non-judgemental way, to reduce anxiety, improve confidence. .

Personal Statement

My training includes many therapeutic models, known as an Integrative modality. Integrative therapy is a holistic approach to mental health treatment that combines techniques and insights from various therapeutic modalities. It aims to address the complex and multifaceted nature of psychological issues by tailoring therapy to the individual's unique needs.

There is no 'one-size-fits-all solution'; each client is different, and has experienced 'life events' in many different ways. This approach, invites the therapist to tailor their therapeutic journey to each client's personality and experience.

Sessions are weekly and typically involve emotional exploration, deep discussion, inevitable reflection, and psychoeducation - all aimed at empowering the clients to actively engage in the healing process in pursuit of a healthy psychological recovery.

To conclude, integrative therapy is evidence-based, drawing on established techniques with proven efficacy. This multidimensional approach can target both the symptoms and root causes of mental health challenges, promoting lasting change and improved well-being. Ultimately, integrative therapy's effectiveness lies in its ability to offer a personalised, comprehensive, and adaptable path to healing.
