Special interest areas
I have a strong interest in supporting students and young adults, particularly those in higher education. Over the years, I’ve worked closely with university students from diverse backgrounds, and I understand the unique pressures they face — from academic stress and performance anxiety to questions around identity, purpose, and independence. Common challenges I help students with include: • Academic pressure and burnout • Imposter syndrome and perfectionism • Isolation and difficulty settling in • Anxiety around exams, deadlines, or public speaking • Balancing cultural/family expectations with personal goals • Low mood, lack of motivation, or emotional overwhelm My approach with students is supportive and empowering. I help them build resilience, manage stress, and reconnect with their strengths — offering a space where they feel heard, accepted, and better equipped to cope with the demands of student life. Additionally, I have a strong background working with adolescents through my time at a Young People’s Centre. I support young people in managing emotional regulation, peer relationships, identity, and the challenges of growing into adulthood. Culturally Sensitive Counselling An important focus of my work is supporting clients within their cultural context. I have extensive experience working with people from a variety of ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, and I understand how deeply culture, tradition, and community influence our beliefs, behaviours, and emotional wellbeing. I offer culturally appropriate counselling for clients facing issues such as: • Cultural identity and belonging • Intergenerational conflict • Intercultural and interfaith relationships • Forced marriage or family pressure • Migration, displacement, or cultural adjustment • Racism, discrimination, and marginalisation My approach is inclusive, anti-oppressive, and identity-affirming. I provide a space where you can explore the impact of cultural expectations, challenge internalised pressures, and connect with your authentic self — without fear of judgement. Whether you're trying to reconcile different parts of your identity or manage tensions between tradition and autonomy, I am here to walk alongside you with empathy and understanding. .
Personal Statement
As an integrative therapist, I tailor my approach to suit your individual needs. I draw on elements from person-centred therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), and psychodynamic approaches to support you in a way that feels most effective and comfortable.
I believe that therapy should be a collaborative and empowering process. You are the expert of your own experience, and our sessions will centre around the issues that matter most to you. My role is to offer empathy, insight, and gentle challenge to help you increase self-awareness, develop new perspectives, and build emotional resilience.
Clients often come to me seeking a space where they can speak freely, feel seen, and start making meaningful change. Whether you're struggling with a specific issue or just feeling stuck, I’m here to support you in building a stronger, more grounded sense of self.
Therapy That’s Inclusive and Affirming
I work with clients of all ages and backgrounds and welcome those who identify as LGBTQ+, BIPOC, neurodivergent, or from marginalised communities. My aim is to provide a safe, affirming space where you feel respected and supported.
