Special interest areas

My main area of interest is related to trauma of sexual abuse and its impact on the survivor. Sexual abuse especially in childhood can leave very painful memories causing an individual feeling disconnected, self-loathing, unable to trust and therefore very lonely. Issues such as anxiety, panic attacks, depression are often a result of traumatic experiences which I am happy to explore with you and help you to understand. .

Personal Statement

I am an accredited counsellor professionally trained to work with survivors of sexual abuse. Depending on a client's circumstances and needs, I use Person-Centred approach combined with CBT or trauma-informed therapy. In my client work I introduce my clients to a variety of approaches and techniques which are very helpful to establish the best way of working in order to achieve the desired outcomes.

If you decide to work with me, I will not judge you. I will, however, need to understand what brings you to seek counselling and what we can achieve with the therapy.  I would explore with you the impact of the traumatic experiences on your life, but this would be done in a very gentle way. I would not ask you for the details of the past. I would rather help you embrace your memories with love and compassion towards the person you once were and perhaps the circumstances that you could not control in your life.
