Special interest areas
I specialist in working with individuals who need support around anxiety, depression, low self esteem, confidence, trauma and neurodiversity. I have over 15 years experience in working with Autism & ADHD in a therapeutic setting. My interest for these areas stems from my own lived experience. I take my education and knowledge of neurodiversity and the different way this presents in adults to tailor the counselling to support clients in order that everyone can access effective and practical counselling and therapy that meets their needs. My approach includes working in an integrative way. This means that i am trained in being able to draw on many counselling modalities in order to find the right approach that works for you. When I am working with neurodivergence in therapy, I avoid trying to encourage that person to behave or think in a more neurotypical way. In order to be neurodivergent affirming, I work in a way to facilitate ways to help them embrace, accept and celebrate their neurodivergence and work with it not against it as there are many strengths that come with this..
Personal Statement
I am a qualified and experienced counsellor and can offer integrative counselling, which means I can adapt my approach which can be tailored to your specific requirements.
I have over 15 years experience working & supporting clients to make positive changes in their lives.
Deciding you would like to talk to somebody about your thoughts, feelings and behaviour is a courageous decision & something that you should be proud of that you are taking these steps. I aim to provide a safe environment where you can speak freely without judgement. So often in our lives we reach a place where we are struggling in some capacity or another. It may be a deep rooted issue that goes back to childhood, substance misuse, a past relationship, current relationship, mental health, trauma or general life direction.
