Special interest areas
Much of my experience has been working in schools, with 6th form and university students as well as adults. We all have to navigate our way through different phases of our lives and this can be made more challenging by unexpected events along the way. My focus is upon helping clients to express, understand and manage their feelings in a way that is healthy, allowing them to move on successfully from one stage to another..
Personal Statement
I offer a warmth and acceptance which is unconditional so you can feel free to say what you’re feeling without judgement. I can help you to tackle difficult or sensitive areas of your life using my professional skills with the benefit of not having any connection to your family or friends. How we pace the sessions will depend on whether it is brief/mid/long-term therapy. We can opt for a more solution-focused approach when there is less time but even so, the most important factor in any therapy is the quality of the relationship between therapist and client. Some CBT techniques may be useful to explore whether your automatic style of thinking is causing you more distress than it needs to.
