Special interest areas

I have a special interest in working with clients with autism and/or ADHD, especially those diagnosed as adults. A later diagnosis can have a big impact, both positive and negative. For some, undiagnosed neurodivergence can be connected to past feelings of alienation and trauma. I work with clients to stabilise their anxiety, process any mixed emotions around the diagnosis and then support them towards feeling a more coherent sense of self. .

Personal Statement

I offer a warmth and acceptance which is unconditional so you can feel free to say what you’re feeling without judgement. I can help you to tackle difficult or sensitive areas of your life using my professional skills with the benefit of not having any connection to your family or friends. How we pace the sessions will depend on whether it is brief/mid/long-term therapy. We can opt for a more solution-focused approach when there is less time but even so, the most important factor in any therapy is the quality of the relationship between therapist and client. Some CBT techniques may be useful to explore whether your automatic style of thinking is causing you more distress than it needs to.
