Special interest areas
Neurodiversity (ADHD / ASD mainly) - late diagnosis & associated issues. We work to unpick the impact of this and to develop strategies for moving forwards with new knowledge and understanding of yourself. I have ADHD & come from a family of various neuro-types (& am parent to ND children). Trauma due to emotional neglect, abuse, narcissistic relationships or developmental trauma. My aim in our work together will be to help you to become comfortable in being you; whatever that might look like for you. Your life + my experience & expertise = emotional processing & a way forwards...
Personal Statement
My practice is Integrative with Psychodynamic roots which means that it is a deep dive: more of a physio’s sports massage than an aromatherapy rub. We work to get to the root of what is causing you pain.
Psychodynamic work is about making what is unconscious, conscious. Once we are aware of underlying issues, processes and behaviour patterns we can then process that information and the associated feelings before being free to consciously choose how to move forwards.
The therapeutic relationship is key and it is important that you are comfortable with your therapist. The decision of who you work with is entirely yours. I work with humans. Anyone and everyone is welcome. Whatever you wish to discuss is welcome.
I provide safety, warmth, support and gentle challenge. Together we will gently unscramble the areas of your life that are proving tricky and work to create an emotional support toolbox and a map to navigate future challenges.
