Special interest areas
I am an Integrative Therapist who uses a range of techniques to ensure my clients benefit from an approach designed to meet their individual needs. I utilise Cognitive Behavioural Therapy extensively having studied the application of CBT for anxiety at Masters Degree level, with CBT being highly effective for anxiety, depression and a range of other issues. I have had my work in this field published by the BACP and I have written on the topic of stress, anxiety and exam stress for various publications in Jersey. I work collaboratively with my clients to help us understand the underlying causes of the difficulties they are experiencing and on developing effective, solution focused ways of coping. Over my years as a therapist, I have built up a wealth of effective coping strategies for a wide range of different issues that can help to bring about meaningful and long lasting change..
Personal Statement
I am deeply passionate about being a therapist and have seen the life changing impact that therapy can have on people's lives. I have been working therapeutically with children, young people and adults for over 20 years. I work as a school counsellor and have a private therapy practice working with adults through Universities, Axa and the NHS. You can be assured that the theoretical knowledge underpinning my practice is comprehensive but, most importantly, I build trusting and supportive relationships with my clients to help them find ways to overcome their difficulties. On a personal level i'm a committed husband and Father to my two young daughters, year round daily sea swimmer and lifelong surfer!
